Experience has shown that private instruction is especially beneficial in the following areas:
Athletic Conditioning and Sports Performance
Pilates has become popular among professional athletes looking for an edge. Whatever your sport, Pilates is a great addition to your Strength & Conditioning training. Despite its precise, careful movements, you will find Pilates for athletic conditioning challenging! Tailored to fit your goals, it will increase your tolerance to sport specific training and decrease the chance of injury. Professional Athletes training in sports that have already started to see the benefits from the Pilates method include, but are not limited to: tennis, rugby, football, golf, triathlon, running, swimming, cycling, rowing, basketball and American Football.
Injury Rehabilitation
In recent years health professionals have become more aware of the potential benefits of Pilates for their patients. If you have been recommended to Pilates by your physiotherapist, osteopath, chiropractor, surgeon or doctor, a course of one-to-one sessions (in the correct hands), Pilates is a powerful tool and can be used as part of a programme to retrain movement and help restore fitness and well-being. If you are recovering from an injury or illness, this package will enable you to work safely and to achieve the specific goals that you may have. One of your goals may be eventually to come to classes.
Targeted Results
Many clients choose this package to focus on the results that they want to achieve at a time convenient to them. Without doubt, working on a one-to-one basis will give more targeted results in a shorter period of time. Semi-private sessions with a friend may be appropriate if you have similar fitness goals and physical ability.
New to Pilates
If you are new to Pilates, private instruction is an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of STOTT PILATES. We all learn differently, and in a private session you can focus on what you need to correct, move quickly through what you understand well, and focus on the areas where you need more work. Many clients start with a course of one-to-ones and then move to a group class once they are more confident and able.
